Readers and writers. At Oldham Library , Greaves Street, OL1 1AL, Oldham. United Kingdom.

What is science fiction? Why would you want to write it?

Spend a couple of hours with writer Debbie Bennett looking at how to write successful fiction. We’ll look at what makes good reading, have a go at writing it and share our work within the group (with no pressure if writers would rather not read their work aloud). If we have time, we’ll also discuss markets and what you can do with your finished story.

Debbie Bennett published her first short story in Bella magazine over 25 years ago. She’s been involved in the fantasy and science fiction genre for even longer – editing the British Fantasy Society fiction newsletter and fiction anthologies and running conventions, and has had many more short stories and novels published in a variety of outlets, both in print and online.
