Head to Oldham Library for a celebration of the array of writing talent we have on our doorstep.

Join us for the launch of our Oldham Born ‘n’ Read collection which features books from authors of the borough, and get to meet some of them too. You can also find out about opportunities in the area for your own writing, including NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). This event is free but booking is essential.

The celebration will finish on a high with a special Cream Tea hosted by a panel of bestselling Oldham authors; Kirsty Greenwood, Phaedra Patrick and Jacqueline Ward. The panel event is £6 including a cream tea (booking essential)

This event isn’t just for writers, it’s open to everyone and will be a great opportunity for those who have always fancied having a go at any kind of writing or meeting some amazing authors.

Titles from Oldham’s authors will be available to purchase or borrow from Oldham Libraries at the event.

Oldham Born ‘n’ Read Programme:

11am Opening Ceremony

A celebration of local writers and the launch of the Oldham Born ‘n’ Read Collection. A chance for you to get to know Oldham’s writers over coffee and browse our titles.

 

12noon – 2pm Writing Tips and Introduction to NanoWriMo

Author Jacqueline Ward will introduce Oldham’s NaNoWriMo support sessions and you can pick up tips from award winning writers for your own work, whether that’s a novel, script, poem or short story. There’ll be the chance to put pen to paper and ask questions.

 

3-4:30pm Oldham Born ‘n’ Read Cream Tea, £6

A special Cream Tea hosted by a panel of bestselling Oldham authors; Kirsty GreenwoodPhaedra Patrick and Jacqueline Ward.
